This is primarily directed at the Chapter Newsletter Editors with the hope they could put a short note in their February newsletter, but it could also be used as an item to be brought up in Chapter meetings by a Chapter Officer.
The Alfa Romeo Owners Club Board of Directors election for 2011 will again have online voting as an option. However, this year the only ones who will be able to vote online are those who have supplied AROC with an email address. In early March when the March issue of the Alfa Owner is published, an email with a link to the online voting will be sent out to every AROC member for which we have an email address. The link will have a unique key that will allow the recipient to access an online ballot and cast votes for their choice of Director candidates.
This early notice is to alert our membership of the need for an email address this year for online voting and list a caveat on the email related to membership types.

"We periodically send emails to our members for which we have an email address. AROC does not sell, rent, distribute, or otherwise use any member information outside of its normal use in running the club. Our email sending address is Alfa.Romeo.Owners.Club@aroc-usa.org and if you want to receive our emails, you need to make sure we are on your "safe senders" list. If your email bounces due to your spam filter we delete your email address from our AROC member database. That means if you really do want to receive AROC emails you will need to add us to your safe sender list and resubmit your email address.
If you have a Gold or Verde Family membership you will have two members who can vote. However, if both have supplied the same email address you will only get one online voting link, as the emailing process does not send to duplicate addresses. (The second member still gets to vote, but will have to use the paper ballot supplied in the March Alfa Owner.)
So, if you currently have not supplied AROC with an email or have not listed Alfa.Romeo.Owners.Club@aroc-usa.org as a safe or allowed sender, you need to get that done in the next two weeks before the end of February so you will be able vote online in 2011 for the AROC national Board of Directors.
In the past year we have sent two or three membership wide emails with club information that is of interest but the timeframe is too short for the magazine, and there were several more that could have been but weren't. That will continue this year, almost certainly getting more frequent as our members get more in tune with the concept. Without your email address you won't be getting the information and we are looking forward to being able to converse with you electronically."
